Developing Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAS) for House Officer to Practice Safely and Independently in Dentistry; A Qualitative Study Using Interpretive Paradigm

Objective: To develop entrustable professional activities for a one-year house job in dentistry.
 Study Design: Qualitative study (Interpretive Paradigm).
 Place and Duration of Study: Khyber College Dentistry Sardar Begum Dental College, Peshawar Pakistan, from Sep 2017 to May 2018.
 Methodology: A five-step approach was used four EPAs job. Using maximum variation sampling, faculty members eleven disciplines dentistry working public private dental colleges Pakhtunkhwa charge training interns participated the study. Three focus group interviews three in-depth were conducted. Data transcribed thematic analysis done.
 Results: The developed using approach. This process resulted developing content detail, analysing results into competencies aligned with Pakistan medical council, assessment methods such as multisource feedback, direct observation, mini CEX peer coaching role modelling teaching strategies each activity. Participants agreed on trusting officer perform independently gradual shift supervision scale action indirect finally enacting unsupervised.
 Conclusion: presents foundation specific dentistry, step towards competency-based transition period 5-stage These can provide explicit guidance engagement officers clinical workplace activities.
